Antigua and Barbuda’s Ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS), Sir Ron Sanders, has been assigned to secure financial resources for hosting the OAS conference next year.

Recently, the OAS decided, by acclamation, to hold its 55th General Assembly in Antigua and Barbuda, a decision made during a General Assembly meeting in Asuncion, Paraguay.

Sir Ron Sanders, who presented the proposal, remarked that the agreement reflects the confidence in Antigua and Barbuda’s leadership and people. He has been tasked with lobbying other governments to help offset the substantial costs of hosting the event.
