Singapore Signals Willingness To Support Antigua and Barbuda’s CHOGM 2026 Planning

Antigua and Barbuda and the Republic of Singapore Discuss Technical Cooperation for CHOGM 2026
The Honourable E.P. Chet Greene, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Barbuda Affairs of Antigua and Barbuda, held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Luke Goh, Permanent Secretary for Law and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore, on the margins of the Commonwealth Foreign Ministers Meeting in London.
During the meeting, discussions focused on Antigua and Barbuda’s preparations to host the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in St. John’s from 1st to 4th November 2026 and on opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.
Mr. Goh conveyed Singapore’s willingness to lend support to Antigua and Barbuda’s preparations for CHOGM through the provision of technical assistance and training, drawing on Singapore’s experience in governance, public administration, and the organisation of major international events.
Minister Greene welcomed Singapore’s offer of support and underscored the importance of partnerships within the Commonwealth and beyond to ensure the successful hosting of CHOGM 2026.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation and expressed confidence that the upcoming meeting in Antigua and Barbuda will serve as an important platform to strengthen collaboration and advance shared priorities across the Commonwealth.
Foreign Minister Greene was accompanied by Her Excellency Karen-Mae Hill, High Commissioner of the Antigua and Barbuda High Commission in London and Ms. Chantal Phillip, Minister Counsellor.
