Sazeek Joseph Jailed Four Years for Attempted Rape of 18-Year-Old Woman

Sazeek Joseph has been sentenced to four years in prison after being found guilty of attempting to rape an 18-year-old woman.
A jury convicted him in March of attempted rape and serious indecency. He received four years for the attempted rape and one year for serious indecency, to run concurrently.
The charges stem from an incident in June 2022. The court heard that Joseph drove the woman to a secluded area and attempted to assault her. She resisted and later recorded part of their interaction, in which he admitted damaging her clothing.

Prosecutors said he later assaulted her again before she managed to get away and report the matter to police the same day.
Jurors were shown messages, audio recordings and physical evidence. Joseph gave conflicting accounts, which were rejected by the jury.
He was remanded after conviction and sentenced on Tuesday.
