Tammica Mendoza’s journey embodies the spirit of hard work and dedication, culminating in a remarkable achievement – her recent appointment to restaurant manager at Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The rising hospitality star began her career at Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa as a restaurant server in January 2015.
However, Mendoza’s exceptional performance and unwavering dedication quickly propelled her to recognition, earning her a promotion to restaurant supervisor in March 2023.
This was just the beginning of her meteoric rise as a team member employed at Sandals Grande Antigua.
Sandals General Manager David Latchimy, highlighting her remarkable year, lauded her as a ‘Sandals trailblazer’ who, in addition to being nominated for several Sandals Prestige Awards, achieved the coveted General Manager’s (Pacesetter) Prestige Award for 2022.
This recognition further solidified Mendoza’s position as a shining example of talent and commitment within the Sandals family.
Her dedication was further acknowledged in December 2023, when she was presented with the prestigious ‘Rising Star Award’ at the Annual Tourism Awards hosted by the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority.
Now, glowing in her new role in Saint Vincent, Mendoza recognizes this opportunity as a chance to represent both Sandals Grande Antigua and her beloved Antigua and Barbuda with pride.
“It was not an easy journey, but I was determined to prove that the sky is the limit and to also inspire my fellow colleagues in Antigua to stay focused and keep taking the necessary steps to move your careers forward within the Sandals company,” she shared.
Her journey underscores the importance of hard work and perseverance, inspiring colleagues in Antigua to pursue their own career development within the Sandals company.
Mendoza’s story is a testament to the power of dedication, talent and the opportunities offered by Sandals, which is renowned for its commitment to team member education and training through its Learning and Development division.
