Samantha Marshall Thanks Government for Ambassador-at-Large Appointment, Encourages Young Women to Lead

Newly appointed Ambassador-at-Large Samantha Marshall has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Gaston Browne and his Cabinet following her appointment, saying she looks forward to continuing her service to Antigua and Barbuda in the new role.

In a social media post on Thursday, Marshall described the appointment as an honor and thanked the government for the opportunity.

“My sincere thanks to the Prime Minister, Hon. Gaston Browne, and his Cabinet for appointing me Ambassador-at-Large,” she wrote.

Marshall, an attorney and former parliamentarian who previously served in both the Upper and Lower Houses of Parliament, said she had been “blessed with many opportunities to serve Antigua and Barbuda” and was eager to continue contributing to national development.

She also used the occasion to encourage young women to pursue leadership roles and public service.

“To our young ladies watching: dream big, step forward, and know you can shape our nation’s future, no matter the role,” Marshall said.

The former minister thanked supporters who had sent congratulatory messages, saying their support and trust meant a great deal to her.

Marshall also extended congratulations to fellow Ambassador-at-Large Joanne Massiah, expressing confidence that both women would serve the country with “distinction and pride” while supporting the government’s development agenda.

The appointments of Marshall and Massiah as Ambassadors-at-Large were announced on Thursday. Their responsibilities have not yet been outlined publicly.

Marshall concluded her message by invoking God’s guidance as she prepares to assume her new duties.
