Rocks Group Appoints Antiguan Chef Christopher Terry As Group Executive Chef

Internationally Acclaimed Chef Returns Home to Lead Culinary Direction Across Rocks Group’s Collection of Restaurants
Rocks Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Antiguan chef Christopher Terry as Group Executive Chef, overseeing the culinary vision and operations across the group’s collection of restaurants, including Sheer Rocks, Catherine’s Café, Rokuni, Fat Urchin, and Roca.
With more than 17 years of experience spanning some of the world’s most prestigious luxury resorts and hospitality destinations, Terry returns home to Antigua following a distinguished international career that has taken him from the Caribbean to North America and most recently, the Maldives.
A graduate of the Antigua & Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute, Terry began his culinary journey on the island before pursuing further studies at Johnson & Wales University in Florida.
Since then, he has held senior leadership roles at renowned properties including The Nautilus Maldives, Amanyara in Turks & Caicos, Hammock Cove Antigua, Sandals Barbados, Ocean Reef Club Florida, and Jumby Bay Island.
Throughout his career, he has become known for his commitment to exceptional guest experiences, innovative menu development, mentorship, and the thoughtful integration of local ingredients into world-class cuisine.
His appointment marks a particularly meaningful full-circle moment for both Terry and Rocks Group founder, Alex Grimley, who first worked together many years ago during their time at Carlisle Bay, where Grimley served as Head Chef and Terry was beginning his own culinary career.
Today, both chefs reunite at a pivotal moment for the group as Rocks Group continues to evolve and expand its culinary offerings across Antigua.
“Chris represents everything we value as a hospitality group,” says Carl Habel, Chief Operating Officer of Rocks Group.
“He is exceptionally talented, deeply passionate about his craft, and brings a wealth of international experience from some of the world’s leading luxury properties. Just as importantly, he is Antiguan. His journey is a fantastic example of local talent achieving success on the global stage and choosing to bring that knowledge and expertise back home.”
“We are incredibly excited about what Chris will bring to our restaurants, not only in terms of culinary creativity and leadership, but also through his ability to mentor and inspire the next generation of hospitality professionals here in Antigua.”
Returning to Antigua represents an opportunity for Terry to contribute to a group that continues to push boundaries within Caribbean hospitality, where the foundation of his career was built.
As Group Executive Chef, Terry will oversee culinary development across all Rocks Group concepts, working closely with restaurant teams to continue elevating guest experiences while championing quality, creativity, sustainability, and the celebration of Caribbean ingredients and talent.
The appointment reflects Rocks Group’s ongoing commitment to investing in people, developing hospitality careers, and contributing to the continued growth of Antigua’s thriving culinary scene.
