All Saints East and St. Luke representative-elect Jamale Pringle as Leader of the Opposition

on Monday, May 11, at 1 p.m., at Government House.
Constitutionally, the Opposition is entitled to four seats in the Upper House. Accordingly,
Mr. Pringle has selected the following persons to serve in the capacity of Senators and they
will receive their instruments of appointment, as well:
• Chester Hughes, executive officer, Antigua and Barbuda Workers’ Union
• Jonathan Wehner, PRO – UPP
• Malaka Parker, SJRN Caretaker – UPP
• Ashworth Azille, SJRE Caretaker – UPP
“I am confident that these colleagues will bring to the Senate the representation the Party
needs at this time of rebuilding and the quality of debate the Nation needs to keep the
Browne Administration accountable,” Mr. Pringle says.
“These persons were carefully chosen, with the immediate view of increasing capacity
within the UPP and the long-term view of laying the foundation for our future
Administration,” he adds.
“I invite our membership and the public to support them fully as they take up their
responsibilities to the Party and the State.”
