Prime Minister Browne Welcomes INS Sudarshini During Antigua Port Call

Prime Minister Gaston Browne welcomed the commanding officer of the Indian naval training vessel INS Sudarshini during the ship’s visit to Antigua and Barbuda this week.
According to the High Commission of India in Guyana, Cmdr. Ravikanth Nandoori, commanding officer of INS Sudarshini, paid a courtesy call on Browne during the vessel’s port visit from May 27-31.
The meeting focused on the longstanding friendship between Antigua and Barbuda and India.

Browne expressed his appreciation for the visit and thanked the Government of India for its continued support and assistance to Antigua and Barbuda. He also welcomed the presence of the vessel in the twin-island nation.
Nandoori thanked the government of Antigua and Barbuda for its cooperation and hospitality extended to the ship and its crew during the visit.
The port call forms part of the vessel’s international deployment under the Indian Navy’s Lokayan 2026 initiative, which aims to strengthen maritime cooperation and foster goodwill with partner countries.
INS Sudarshini is a sail training vessel of the Indian Navy and has participated in numerous international voyages and diplomatic outreach missions around the world.
