POLICE SEEK PUBLIC ASSISTANCE FOLLOWING ALLEGED ROBBERY AND SHOOTING INCIDENT IN LIBERTA

St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Tuesday, May 26, 2026

Police are appealing to the public for assistance as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding an alleged robbery and shooting incident that occurred at Green Hill, Liberta.

Around 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, police responded to a report of a robbery at the home of a 68-year-old man and his 69-year-old wife.
Preliminary investigations revealed that two masked male intruders allegedly gained entry into the house and physically assaulted the couple while demanding money.

The male victim was reportedly beaten about the body, while his wife sustained multiple injuries, including a gunshot wound to her right leg. Both victims were transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre for medical treatment. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The suspects were described as slim-built and wearing dark face coverings.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the Green Hill, Liberta area around the time of the incident, or anyone with information that could assist in identifying and apprehending the suspects, to contact the Liberta Police Station at 460-1002, the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913, or call the Crimestoppers anonymous hotline at 800-TIPS (8477).
