Police Commissioner Atlee Rodney

Antigua and Barbuda’s Police Commissioner, Atlee Rodney, has called for continued collaboration in tackling crime following a rise in robberies towards the end of 2024.

Rodney outlined several new initiatives aimed at enhancing public safety, including the creation of a specialized police unit and updated patrol strategies.

He attributed the reduction in crime to the combined efforts of the government, community, and church groups.

According to Rodney, the government took action by having the Prime Minister engage with different organizations, while the church offered its support and the community shared important information with the police.

He emphasized that proactive policing was vital in maintaining peace.

Rodney also highlighted the success of advanced technologies such as drones in crime-fighting, and he expressed hope for additional resources in 2025 to further strengthen efforts against crime.
