PM Confirms He Will Announce Election Date On Tuesday

Prime Minister Gaston Browne announced moments ago on Pointe FM, that the date for the 2026 General Election will be announced on Tuesday.
Browne said he will take the opportunity to reveal the precise day at the launch of the party’s election campaign.
This will be held on Nugent Avenue at the party’s headquarters from 7pm.
Browne told radio listeners that the date will be before the end of the month.
On Friday, Browne revealed that the parliament had been dissolved paving the way for an early poll. Last month he warned the opposition to prepare for election within 90 days or sooner.
On Wednesday the executive urged residents to trust in the leadership of the country. Adding “As Antigua and Barbuda reflects on the remarkable progress achieved over the past twelve years, it is evident that this period of exceptional growth has been guided by strong, visionary, and decisive leadership at the highest level. Prime Minister Gaston Browne’s steady hand, strategic foresight, and his team’s unwavering commitment to national development have positioned our nation as a resilient and forward-moving small state, capable of navigating uncertainty while delivering tangible results for our people.
In a time of unprecedented global challenges—where small developing states like ours face economic volatility, climate threats, and shifting geopolitical realities—the importance of experienced, focused, and transformational leadership cannot be overstated.
