Prime Minister Gaston Browne has warned the public not to fall victim to a fraudulent online investment advertisement that falsely uses his image and voice to promote what appears to be a scam.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Browne wrote: “Careful with them Stinking Dutty Thieves around the place. This is fake.”

The warning accompanied a video advertisement claiming the prime minister was endorsing a financial platform that promised earnings of up to EC$8,100 per week from an initial investment of EC$675.

According to the video, the advertisement claims the platform uses artificial intelligence to generate guaranteed profits and even falsely attributes statements to Browne, including a promise to personally refund investors if they failed to earn the advertised returns. It also urges viewers to submit their contact information through a website to secure a place on the platform.

The prime minister made it clear that the advertisement is fraudulent and urged members of the public to disregard it.

The post serves as a reminder for people to verify investment opportunities through official sources and to be cautious of online advertisements that promise unusually high or guaranteed returns.
