Prime Minister Gaston Browne assured St. Peter residents that roadworks in the constituency will continue beyond the January 14 by-election. Speaking on Pointe FM, he noted that repairs, initiated in August last year as part of a Ministry of Works plan, are focused on long-neglected areas like Gunthorpe’s and Lightfoot.

Browne dismissed opposition criticism of expedited work as election-driven, stating the pace increased following the unexpected death of former MP Asot Michael. He emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing the community’s long-standing issues with deteriorated roads and acknowledged the need for additional equipment to meet material demands for the ongoing projects.
