Pilot Census Testing Extended to January 2025

The Statistics Division commenced the Pilot Test for the Population and Housing Census 2025 on November 30, covering ten Enumeration Districts (EDs) across Antigua and Barbuda.

These areas include Matthew Street (back of Perry Bay), parts of Grays Farm, Golden Grove School Area, Jennings, Liberta, Pares, Willikies, Pigotts, Clare Hall, Factory Road Area, and Barbuda.

Initially scheduled to run until December 20, the exercise has been extended to January 5, 2025, to ensure its successful completion.

The Census Office is urging residents to fully cooperate with enumerators, assuring them that all information collected will be held in strict confidence.

Census officials stated that the pilot exercise is critical for testing innovative tools, methodologies, and technologies to prepare for the full Census 2025.

Field officers conducting the exercise are easily identifiable by their official picture IDs and T-shirts displaying the Division’s logo on the front and the label “Census Pilot 2024 Population and Housing Census” on the back.

Residents with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact the Statistics Division at [email protected] or call 463-5198/462-4775.
