Parliament Adjourned Until Monday to Allow for Meaningful Debate on Bills by Opposition (VIDEO)

St. John’s, Antigua – The House of Representatives has been adjourned until Monday at 9:30 a.m., following a motion put forward by Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, The Honorable Steadroy “Cutie” Benjamin. The decision was made to ensure that all parties have sufficient time to prepare for meaningful discussions on the bills scheduled for debate.
Attorney General Benjamin highlighted that the bills had been circulated since the previous Saturday, dismissing any claims that members had insufficient time to review them. “Since last Saturday, these bills were available,” he stated, emphasizing that the adjournment grants additional time for thorough preparation.
The motion was seconded, and with unanimous approval from the members present, the House was formally adjourned. Debate on the pending legislation will resume on Monday morning.
