Officials call for relocation of roadside mechanic shops (+VIDEO)

Government officials say roadside mechanic operations are creating safety, sanitation and traffic concerns and must be relocated to designated areas as enforcement efforts intensify.
Speaking on the Browne and Browne programme on Pointe FM over the weekend, officials said some mechanics have already been offered alternative locations but continue to operate along roadways, blocking traffic and creating public hazards.
They said enforcement will follow where relocation options are ignored, as part of broader efforts to improve order, safety and cleanliness in communities across the country.
