Officer Karim Warner Awaits Ruling After Trial on Firearm Discharge Charges

The trial of police officer Karim Warner concluded Saturday after final witness testimonies in a case involving allegations of firearm discharge at an occupied vehicle.
Warner is accused of firing 12 shots at a Toyota Mark X near Emerald Cove Resort on December 3, 2023, following a dispute over a leased vehicle. The investigation found bullet holes near a rear door handle and spent shell casings around the car.
Initially charged with firearm discharge and assault, Warner pleaded not guilty. Last month, prosecutors withdrew the assault charges. Eight witnesses testified, but the male occupant declined to participate.
With the prosecution resting its case, the defence plans a no-case submission. A ruling is set for May 13.
