Nottingham Girls Day School Returns to Antigua and Barbuda for Third Consecutive Sports Tourism Exchange

Antigua and Barbuda continues to strengthen its reputation as a leading sports tourism destination with the return of the Nottingham Girls’ Day School

from the United Kingdom for its third consecutive sports tourism exchange. The visit, facilitated by the Sports Tourism Department within the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Transportation

and Investment, underscores the enduring partnership between the destination and the educational institution.

The visiting delegation arrived in Antigua yesterday (Tuesday), and consists of two Under-17 netball teams who will be competing in a series of exhibition matches against local teams between July 9 to 17. The annual visit continues to strengthen the relationship between the school and Antigua and Barbuda while giving young athletes the opportunity to develop their skills, build friendships and experience a new culture through sport.

Away from the court, the students will enjoy some of the destination’s most memorable attractions. Their itinerary includes a visit to Cades Bay for snorkeling and other water activities,

Stingray City, and a trip to the historic Shirley Heights.

Ms. Karen Joseph, head of the Sports Tourism Department said the tourism ministry is delighted to welcome the delegation back to Antigua and Barbuda and looks forward to another successful exchange.

our beautiful twin-island nation has to offer”, Ms. Joseph said.
