The Peetron Movement International (PMI), led by Peetron Thomas, continues to spread holiday cheer through its impactful community service projects.
This year marks the fourth annual Noreen Mingo Christmas Initiative, created to honor the late Noreen Mingo, a beloved community leader whose legacy continues to inspire the work of PMI.
During the recent Country Fest Soca Monarch competition, where Peetron Thomas earned first runner-up, PMI launched its largest Christmas outreach yet, distributing over $1,000 worth of Christmas items to the audience during his performance.
Reflecting on the success, Thomas shared, “This year has been one of our most impactful, with two projects completed and a third planned for Christmas week.”
This year’s initiative honors not only Noreen Mingo but also Sonia Benjamin, the grandmother of PMI member Javonte Jackson. Sonia has made significant contributions to community service within her church, community, and PMI. Her dedication continues to inspire and guide the organization.
Today, PMI completed another remarkable act of community service at Soup Kitchen, cooking and serving over 250 plates of food to those in need. This effort was collaboratively organized with Javonte Jackson and the Harrison Champions of the Harrison Centre (ABICE), further amplifying the initiative’s impact.
Thomas also expressed deep gratitude to the generous donors: Kharol Thomas and Judith Martin (Noreen’s daughters), and Jessica James, (Sonia’s daughter), whose support was essential to the initiative’s success. Special thanks were given to Samantha Burnette-Beazer (the head chef/ cook), The Hon. Senator Rawdon Turner, and the Harrison Champions from the Harrison Center for their continued contributions.
With one final project planned for Christmas week, PMI remains committed to honoring the legacies of Noreen Mingo and Sonia Benjamin, spreading love, unity, and service to others this holiday season.
