The National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) is inviting the public to a National Hurricane Season Thanksgiving Church Service later this month as Antigua and Barbuda prepares for the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season.

The service is scheduled for Sunday, May 31 at 4 p.m. at the Bible Speaks Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Under the theme, “A Nation Prepared, A People Protected,” the event will bring together members of the public for prayer and thanksgiving ahead of the start of the hurricane season on June 1.

In a public invitation shared on social media, NODS said the service is intended to give thanks for the country’s safety while also encouraging national preparedness.

“Come and worship with us as we pray and give thanks for a safe and hurricane-free nation,” the agency stated.

NODS also encouraged residents to attend with their families, friends and neighbours.
