Newfield Residents Advised of Temporary Water Outages During Pipeline Upgrade

Residents and businesses in Newfield are being urged to prepare for temporary water interruptions as the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) continues work on a major pipeline upgrade in the community.
In a service update, APUA’s Water Business Unit said the outages are linked to the ongoing Newfield mainline replacement project, which is intended to improve the reliability of the area’s water distribution network.
Technical teams will be making several connections to the newly installed pipeline over the next four days.
As a result, water supply will be temporarily interrupted each day between about 8:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. while the connections are carried out.
Customers are advised to store enough water to meet household needs during the outage periods.
APUA thanked residents for their patience, saying the work is aimed at strengthening the resilience and efficiency of the water system serving the Newfield community.
