New Owners Take Control of Antigua and Barbuda Falcons Ahead of CPL Season

The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons have been acquired by Pakistani investors based in the United States, but the change in ownership is not expected to disrupt the franchise’s operations ahead of the 2026 Caribbean Premier League season.

Head of Operations Sabina Webster confirmed that the investors acquired Worldwide Sports Operations, the company that owns the Falcons franchise.

“The one thing I can tell you in terms of change that you can look forward to is positive change,” Webster said. “They are big on sport development, especially cricket.”

She said the new owners intend to support community programmes and develop young cricketers capable of progressing to the professional level. The team’s branding and overall identity will remain unchanged.

The Falcons began their training camp in Antigua on July 31, with players staying at The Verandah Resort. Webster said the camp would allow the squad to build chemistry and prepare for the tournament.

Work is also underway to ensure Sir Vivian Richards Stadium is ready for the franchise’s home matches, with Leon “Kuma” Rodney leading those preparations.

The Falcons will begin their CPL campaign against the newly formed Jamaica Kingsmen at Arnos Vale Stadium in St. Vincent on Aug. 7. They will face the St. Lucia Kings at the same venue two days later.

The franchise announced in May that it had signed Antiguan and West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph, who previously represented the St. Lucia Kings.
