NYPAAB Hosts Successful Training Seminar to Empower Youth Leaders

The National Youth Parliament Association of Antigua and Barbuda (NYPAAB) recently hosted a highly successful Training Seminar on December 16th, 2024, aimed at equipping youth leaders with the tools to effect positive change in their communities.

The seminar, held at the Sir Novelle Richards Academy, welcomed 22 participants eager to develop skills in parliamentary procedure, NGO management, and community development. Attendees benefited from a series of engaging presentations delivered by some of Antigua and Barbuda’s leading professionals.

The presenters included Kieron Murdoch, who led a session on debate skills, Refica Attwood on identifying community needs and priorities, Dwayne Simon on building partnerships, Brittney McDonald on sustainable community projects, and Jonathon Wehner on our politicalsystem and culture. Additional sessions were facilitated by Ramona Small on parliamentary procedure, Regis Burton on leadership and team membership, and Joshuanette Francis, fundraising for non-governmental organizations.

NYPAAB Immediate Past President, Kamalie Mannix, expressed gratitude to both the presenters and the dedicated planning team; Shaquan O’Neil, Kymanni Edwards, Esther McKenzie, and Chrysean Jarvis for their contributions to the seminar’s seamless execution.

The NYPAAB intends to increase the frequency in similar training events in 2025.

The event concluded with an interactive session and opportunities for participants to network and engage in future NYPAAB initiatives.
