Convicted murderers Isaiah and Kayvin Jerome Benjamin are seeking release after serving 14 years of their 25-year sentences for the 2010 murder of Lyndon Isaac during a robbery at T’s Natural Bamboo Bar.

Edwin Gomez, their accomplice, is serving a 30-year sentence.

Senior Prison Officer Lyndon Russell testified about their rehabilitation, highlighting Isaiah’s work in the bakery and Kayvin’s involvement in the kitchen.

Russell advocated for their release, citing improved behaviour.

Lawyers argued that limited rehabilitation opportunities should not penalize them.

Justice Ann Marie Smith adjourned the hearing to July 23, requesting more detailed testimony from the Superintendent of Prisons.
