Murder accused Shawn Mussington testified on Wednesday about his complex relationship with Simone Whyte-Barrington, expressing regret over her death.
Mussington, in the witness box, said he had been a loving partner despite facing verbal and physical abuse. Shawn admitted to killing Whyte-Barrington, a Jamaican hairdresser, during a gathering at the old Hitachi Centre on November 14, 2020. However, he portrayed himself as a victim of aggressive behaviour.
The trial continued on Thursday before Justice Tunde Bakre, with closing arguments. The jury is expected to return a verdict later this week.
