More than 17,000 visitors arrive in Antigua during busy cruise day

More than 17,000 cruise passengers and crew members came ashore in Antigua in a single day as the 2025–2026 cruise season continues, according to figures released by Antigua Cruise Port.
The total included 12,209 passengers and 4,804 crew members from four vessels docked at the port, adding to what officials describe as growing momentum for the country’s cruise tourism sector.
The ships calling at port were the Britannia, carrying 3,539 passengers and 1,350 crew; Valiant Lady with 2,608 passengers and 1,150 crew; Norwegian Epic, which brought 4,281 passengers and 1,564 crew; and Marella Discovery 2, with 1,781 passengers and 740 crew.
Tourism stakeholders say each cruise call provides a boost to the local economy, benefiting businesses such as shops, tour operators, taxi drivers and beach vendors.
Antigua Cruise Port said the steady flow of visitors is contributing to a positive outlook for the cruise season, with activity visible across St John’s and other popular destinations around the island.
Cruise tourism remains a key pillar of Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism industry, supporting employment and livelihoods while showcasing the country to thousands of visitors each week.
