Minister Rawdon Turner Celebrates International Women’s Day with Call for Gender Equality and Empowerment

Minister of Social and Urban Transformation, Rawdon Turner, marked International Women’s Day 2025 by emphasizing the importance of rights, equality, and empowerment for women and girls worldwide.

This year’s theme, “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.”, serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to create a world where women and girls have the opportunity to thrive without discrimination.

In his address, Turner underscored his commitment to accelerating progress towards gender equality through policies and programs that empower women across all sectors of society.

“We must work together to break barriers and build a future where no woman is left behind,” he said.

The Minister highlighted the need for enhanced economic opportunities, social support systems, and initiatives that enable women to fulfill their potential.
