Director of the Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services, Dale Destin, has reiterated the need for additional personnel to enhance operations.
Speaking on state media during World Meteorological Day, Destin stressed that more staff and specialized expertise are crucial for the “Early Warning for All” initiative.
“We are still waiting for 12 new positions promised by the government. These roles, covering oceanography, agrometeorology, project management, and communications, are essential for fulfilling our responsibilities,” he said.
A year after the commitment, the positions remain unfilled.
