Man to be sentenced after pleading guilty to illegal gun possession

A 25-year-old man will be sentenced on Friday after admitting to unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, while charges against his two co-accused have been dropped.
Aadham O’Garro pleaded guilty before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel on Wednesday. Prosecutors withdrew all charges against George Chiddick, 33, and Ajante Thomas, 21, leaving O’Garro as the sole defendant.
The case followed a police operation in the Green Bay area on Saturday, 24 January. Officers discovered a Glock 17 nine-millimetre pistol and 15 rounds of ammunition at a residence, leading to the arrest of all three men.
They were charged and remanded to His Majesty’s Prison on Tuesday, before returning to court on Wednesday, when the guilty pleas were entered and the remaining charges withdrawn
