UPP’s leadership must embrace structure for success
UPP Chairman Gisele Isaac’s response to Jermaine Edwards’ withdrawal from the primary—stating that “there seems to be a template for these things”—was unsurprising but revealing. It highlights a leadership approach that appears to tolerate, or perhaps even thrive in, chaos.
While some may find unpredictability exciting, the reality is that structure is critical for leadership and organizational growth. A lack of clear processes undermines efficiency, frustrates members, and damages public confidence.
We live in a technology-driven age where templates are not just helpful but essential for achieving consistency, improving management, and fostering efficiency. If the UPP wants to regain momentum, it might start with something as fundamental as a template for processing membership applications.
Imagine the possibilities:• Memberships processed faster and more accurately.• Clear pathways for new and existing members to engage.• A professional image that inspires confidence among supporters.
It’s time for the UPP leadership to realize that chaos isn’t a strategy—it’s a setback. By adopting structure and leveraging modern tools, the party can lay the foundation for a more efficient and effective future. As the saying goes: “Failing to plan is planning to fail.” It’s time for the UPP to create a plan, or perhaps, a template for success.
Sincerely,UPP Agitator for Change
