The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority have welcomed UK content creators Jack Meacher and Toby Marriott from the award-winning cricket community The Cricket District to the twin-island paradise in a unique celebration of Antigua’s cricket and culture.

Over the course of six action-packed days, the Cricket District team watched three world-class cricket matches at the Sir Vivian Richard’s Stadium, enjoyed local restaurants, toured the stunning Antigua coastline by boat and hosted a fun and competitive Antigua and Barbuda Beach Battle, at Jolly Beach Resort and Spa.

Cricket District is one the UK’s premium online cricket communities, with fun, irreverent and engaging content created to showcase the UK’s passion for all-things cricket.

The innovative collaboration, spearheaded by the ABTA UK, highlights Antigua as the premier destination in the Caribbean for a cricket-themed holiday, showcasing Antigua and Barbuda’s impeccable cricket credentials, along with its stunning natural beauty and out-of-this-world cuisine.

The Cricket District team bought all the fun and excitement of T20 cricket to the stunning Jolly Beach Resort, where they challenged staff, players and holidaymakers to take part in a thrilling Beach Battle. While the official rules of T20 weren’t strictly followed, players enjoyed a fast-paced, competitive match on the pristine white sand, while trying to avoid batting into the crystal clear water. At half-time the teams refueled with some local rum punch, before Team Jolly beach emerged victorious!

While staying in Antigua, Cricket District visited to some of Antigua’s most-loved eateries, including Loose Cannon Beach Bar where they enjoyed the stunning views while tucking into burgers, local seafood and some Antigua cocktails.

At Sheer Rocks they enjoyed tapas-style dining alongside their very own plunge pool, and at Canvas the tropical décor, calamari, cocktails and delicious iced coffee proved to be the perfect spot for a break from filming.

Cricket District couldn’t wait to explore the incredible coastline by boat, and stopped off at some of the more secluded beaches on the islands and were lucky enough to spot turtles while snorkeling.

While travelling around Antigua, Cricket District spotted some local cricket taking place at Rising Sun Grounds in St. John’s and stopped to join in. Inspired by the dedication and passion of the young players, Cricket District have pledged to help the academy improve their facilities so that the next generation of Antiguan cricket players can flourish.
