Khan Cordice Honoured for Excellence in Music and Education at JCI Awards
Khan Cordice, an acclaimed musician and educator from Antigua and Barbuda, has been recognized by JCI Antigua for his outstanding contributions to music and education. Cordice received the prestigious honor during the organization’s annual awards ceremony this week, celebrating his impact on the steelpan art form and his dedication to mentoring the next generation.
As the youngest Panorama champion arranger in Antiguan history and a record-holder with the legendary Hells Gate Steel Orchestra, Cordice has been a trailblazer in steelpan music.
His influence has extended internationally, co-arranging for Trinidad’s Republic Bank Exodus Steel Orchestra and earning second place at the Trinidad Panorama competition—bringing global recognition to Antiguan talent.
Beyond his musical achievements, Cordice is a passionate educator with degrees from the University of the West Indies and Northern Illinois University. His efforts to combine education and music have elevated the steelpan’s cultural significance worldwide.
The JCI Antigua award highlights Cordice’s transformative contributions to both the arts and education, honoring his commitment to excellence and his role as an ambassador for Antigua and Barbuda on the global stage.
