Jury Begins Deliberations in Nigel Christian Murder Trial

Jurors in the Nigel Christian murder trial retired Monday afternoon to consider their verdicts after more than two months of testimony.
Saleim Harrigan, Wayne Thomas and Lasean Bully are each charged in connection with the killing of the senior Customs officer. A nine-member jury — comprising five women and four men — began deliberations around 2 p.m. following a more than four-hour summation by Justice Rajiv Persaud.
The trial, which opened on February 19, now rests entirely with the jury, which must return separate verdicts for each accused.
Christian was abducted at gunpoint from his McKinnons home on July 10, 2020.
