A Jamaican national being deported became agitated and assaulted a police officer while being escorted to V.C. Bird International Airport this morning.

Eyewitnesses reported that the man slapped the officer as he was led out of the vehicle, leading to several scuffles with law enforcement before he was subdued and handcuffed.
The altercation took place at the airport’s departure area, and the man is expected to face charges of battery and assault.
