Proceedings are now underway in the High Court for Jahciba Shoy, who is standing trial in relation to the 2023 killing of Syrian businessman Roudi Shmaly.
Shoy has been charged with murder and aggravated robbery stemming from an incident at Pick ’n Mix Mart on Desouza Road, where Shmaly was fatally shot in May of that year.
The defendant has remained in custody since being taken into custody following the incident and is represented by attorney Wendel Alexander.
The court is expected to hear evidence and testimony over the coming days as the matter progresses.
