The intersection of Corn Alley and Long Street has been closed to vehicular traffic and is expected to remain inaccessible for the next five to seven days to allow newly installed concrete to properly cure.
Authorities say the temporary closure is necessary to prevent damage to the fresh concrete and to ensure the longevity and safety of the roadway once construction work is completed.
During the closure period, traffic flow in the surrounding area will be adjusted. Motorists travelling south along Corn Alley will be allowed to turn left onto Long Street. However, drivers on Long Street will only be permitted to continue travelling east.
Officials are advising motorists to follow posted directions and exercise caution when travelling in the area.
The intersection is expected to reopen once the curing process is complete.
