Representatives of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) say child labor exists in Antigua and Barbuda, though there’s insufficient data to measure its extent.
At a recent workshop, the ILO provided guidance and highlighted that child labor takes various forms, including traditional practices.

The ILO stressed the need for explicit data collection on child labor, noting that school abandonment, early dropout rates, and injuries among young people often go unrecognized as indicators.
The organization urged the government to establish a child labor policy, develop a national action plan, and identify hazardous forms of child labor, aiming to eliminate all forms of child labor by 2025.
