Hatton resident Esther Charles narrowly escaped a knife-wielding attacker early Saturday while heading to work.

The masked man confronted her near the West Bus Station, ordering her not to move. Terrified but resolute, Charles of retreated, declaring, “You will not touch me in the name of Jesus.”

Her faith appeared to diffuse the situation, as the assailant relented, allowing her to leave. She credits her unwavering belief for her survival, affirming, “I know the name has power.”
