Halcyon Steel Orchestra Says thanks to its Partners and Supporters for Carnival 2026

Halcyon Steel Orchestra Reflects on Carnival 2026, Thanks Supporters After Third-Place Panorama Finish
Halcyon Steel Orchestra says it remains proud of its performance during Antigua Carnival 2026 despite falling short of the Panorama title, as the veteran steel orchestra closes its 55th anniversary season with a message of gratitude to its players, sponsors and supporters.
Halcyon maintained its third-place position in this year’s Panorama competition, held at Carnival City on August 1.
While acknowledging that the result was not what the orchestra had hoped for, Halcyon said its members could take pride in their performance and commitment throughout the season.
“Above all, Pan in Antigua and by extension, Carnival 2026 was the true winner,” the orchestra said.
Halcyon congratulated all steel orchestras that competed in the “Great Showdown,” with special recognition for CUB Hells Gate Steel Orchestra, which captured an unprecedented seventh consecutive Panorama championship.
West Indies Oil Company Gemonites Steel Orchestra placed second.
As Antigua and Barbuda prepares to observe World Steelpan Day, Halcyon said the end of Carnival provides an opportunity to reflect on another season of music, culture and national celebration.
The orchestra also thanked its major and supporting partners, including Antigua Cruise Ports, PLH/Barbuda Ocean Club, Shirley Heights Lookout, Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, Antigua Masonry Products, Michael Joseph and Prime Minister Gaston Browne.
Halcyon also expressed appreciation to its players, parents, volunteers and other behind-the-scenes supporters who contributed to its participation during its 55th anniversary year.
“To our loyal supporters at home and across the globe, thank you for your unwavering encouragement throughout the season,” the orchestra said. “Your belief in Halcyon inspires us to strive for excellence year after year.”
The steel orchestra said it intends to build on the lessons of the 2026 season while continuing its commitment to preserving Antigua and Barbuda’s steelpan heritage and pursuing excellence in the years ahead.
