On Sunday 1st February 2026 the Glanvilles Football Club spearheaded a community clean up effort at the Glanvilles Football Field which scores of villagers participating in a beautifying effort of village.
The event organized by the Glanvilles FC’s executive members was planned to reach out to all concerned villagers of Glanvilles and Seatons to join in a community cleanup effort. The volunteers of both communities came out from the 6AM start time and went right into the cleanup task in the form of manpower. Among the volunteers were members of the professional members of the Road Side Cleanup Crew who are members of the SeaGlans Community.
Chainsaws, weed whackers and cutlass were the sounds that could be heard as the work went on in the wee hours of the morning.
The support of the community clean up effort was not only in the form of the human resource but also in the form of food, drinks and water.
Sandwiches, meatballs, chicken, patties, pumpkin soup, bottled water, local juice and bottled juice started to fill up the table under a tent located on the Glanvilles Play Field. To top off the table a pot of bush tea and a pot of lentil soup arrived later along with local bread and a huge serving of local Sunday morning breakfast (salt fish and chop up).
Later down in the morning the trucks and the brush cutter arrived.
The work went on from 6AM until about midday. Community spirit was at such a high level that the volunteers present requested the work continue on next Sunday 8th February 2026.
