Ricknaldo Isaac, 26, died nearly two weeks after an altercation with a prison guard left him hospitalized and later suffering complications from quadriplegia due to a spinal cord injury.

His funeral took place at the Tindall Seventh-Day Adventist Church, attended by a small group of family and friends.

Lieutenant Colonel Trevor Pennyfeather, Superintendent of Prisons, was among those present and assured Ricknaldo’s father, Aaron Isaac, that justice would be sought.

Ricknaldo’s brother, Aaron Jr., gave a heartfelt speech, expressing guilt for his brother’s incarceration and vowing to change his life in Ricknaldo’s memory.

Ricknaldo, who left behind two children, was buried at New Winthorpes cemetery, with his funeral paid for by the state. He had been serving a one-year sentence for malicious damage and was scheduled for release just two months before the incident.
