Former Director of Public Prosecutions Evelina Baptiste Passes Away
Evelina Baptiste, Dominica’s first female Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), has died.
Baptiste passed away early this morning at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital after being admitted for feeling unwell.
Baptiste, appointed DPP in 2013, was known for her professionalism and extensive knowledge of the public service.
She served until 2021 when she went on pre-retirement leave.
Her sudden passing marks the end of a distinguished legal career.
