Cruise Ship Calls Hit Record High in Antigua with 410 Visits This Season
Antigua and Barbuda’s cruise sector has hit a new milestone, with officials confirming a record 410 cruise ship calls for the 2024–2025 season.
The figures were revealed during Monday’s Cruise Connect forum at the Treasury Building, where tourism and port officials gathered to discuss the booming industry. January alone saw 98 calls—the highest monthly total ever recorded.
Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez, along with immigration, law enforcement, and other key stakeholders, joined the discussion as plans were laid out to enhance visitor experience and capture more economic benefits ahead of the 2025–2026 season.
Meanwhile, cruise calls to Barbuda are also on the rise, with the number expected to surpass last season’s total of 18, marking a significant step forward for the sister island’s tourism development.
