Commissioner Rodney Congratulates Deputy Commissioner Jeffers on Receiving King’s Police Medal
Commissioner of Police, Mr Atlee Rodney is extending his heartiest congratulations to Deputy Commissioner Jeffers, who has been honoured to receive the Kings Police Medal-KPM in the King’s New Year’s Honours List. Commissioner Rodney said he is extremely delighted for DCP Jeffers on his achievement and wishes him every success.
He describes Jeffers as a loyal and dedicated officer; one who is dependable and committed to service.
Mr Glenroy Everton Jeffers was enlisted in the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda on 18 December 1982 and has worked in several key departments, including; the Immigration Department, Criminal Records Office, Narcotics Department, the Office of Strategic Communications-Stratcom, Human Resources Department, Coolidge Police Station, among other areas.
He is presently serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Administration with responsibilities for the Human Resources Department, which includes Recruitment, Training & Development, Health & Wellness, Project Implementation, and Financial Management, among others. DCP Jeffers is celebrating 42 unbroken and dedicated years of service to the nation of Antigua and Barbuda.
His Majesty The King’s New Year Honours List 2025 recognises unsung heroes who have made outstanding contributions in their respective fields across the UK and the Commonwealth Countries.
More than 1,200 recipients receive honours this year across all sectors, with particular commendation to role models in sport, healthcare, academia, voluntary service, military, and law enforcement.
Mr Jeffers is recognized for his distinguished service in law enforcement and his dedication to ensuring the safety and security of citizens in Antigua and Barbuda. His over four decades-long commitment to public safety has made him a towering figure within the community and a highly respected officer in the police force.
He is the second serving member to receive this prestigious award since King Charles III acceded to the throne on 8 September 2022, upon the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
Assistant Superintendent of Police, Mr Dale Mercury created history when he became the first to receive this honour last year. He too was named among the King’s New Year’s Honours List. Congratulations and best wishes to Deputy Commissioner Everton Jeffers on his achievement.
