Staff from the Central Board of Health this week conducted an outreach initiative at the Villa Polyclinic, offering patients practical advice on child safety and rodent prevention.

On one day, the team focused on child safety in the home, outlining measures parents can take to reduce the risk of injury. Guidance included the safe storage of chemicals and medications, covering electrical outlets, securing sharp objects, and maintaining proper supervision of children.

During another session, officers from the Vector Control Unit engaged patients on strategies to prevent and control rodent infestations. Residents were advised to keep yards clean and free of debris, store and dispose of garbage properly, seal gaps and holes around homes, and avoid discarding food waste in open areas.

The Central Board of Health said it remains committed to educating the public through ongoing outreach efforts, noting that small preventive actions can significantly improve the safety and well-being of homes and communities.
