Central Board of Health Conducts Food Safety Training for Chinese Restaurant Owners and their Staff

This past weekend, the Central Board of Health, with the assistance of a professional translator, hosted an informative food safety training session for the owners and staff of Chinese restaurants across the country.

The session which was attended by over 40 food handlers was focused on essential food safety practices.

During the training, emphasis was placed on the “Five Keys to Safe Food” — which include:
• Keep Clean: Emphasizing proper hygiene and cleanliness in food handling areas.
• Separate Raw and Cooked Foods: Preventing cross-contamination by keeping raw foods separate from ready-to-eat meals.
• Cook Thoroughly: Ensuring that all foods are cooked to the correct internal temperature.
• Keep Food at Safe Temperatures: Maintaining hot foods at the appropriate temperature and refrigerating perishable items promptly.
• Use Safe Water and Safe Materials: Highlighting the importance of clean water and food-grade materials in food preparation.

The goal of the training was to ensure that all staff within the food service industry are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain high food safety standards.
