Billboard Thefts Raise Safety Concerns Across Antigua and Barbuda

A series of thefts involving billboard infrastructure is raising safety concerns in Antigua and Barbuda, following the latest report along the Queen Elizabeth Highway.
At least two structural braces were taken from an Antigua.news billboard situated along the heavily travelled corridor. Similar damage has since been identified at other billboard sites, pointing to repeated and intentional interference.
The missing braces are essential to keeping the large advertising structures stable, particularly during periods of strong winds and heavy rainfall. Their removal increases the risk of billboards becoming unstable, posing potential danger to road users, pedestrians and nearby property.
Owners say the incidents are creating unexpected expenses and forcing urgent inspections, repairs or temporary dismantling of affected billboards to avoid accidents. There is speculation the stolen metal is being repurposed for construction use.

The matter is expected to be brought to the attention of authorities, and the public is being asked to report any suspicious activity near billboard installations.
