Antiguan Makes History as Delta Air Lines Pilot
Latesha Latoya Azille has become the first female Antiguan to join a major U.S. airline, taking her seat as First Officer with Delta Air Lines.
She received her wings during a ceremony at the Delta Flight Museum in Atlanta on 19 March 2025, part of the airline’s 100th anniversary and Women’s History Month celebrations.
Azille began her aviation career in 2016 with LIAT and later flew with World Atlantic Airlines. Despite setbacks, including the COVID-19 pandemic, she continued to rise through the ranks.
A University of the West Indies graduate, Azille credits her Antiguan upbringing and education for her success. She now mentors aspiring female pilots and hopes her journey will inspire young women across the Caribbean.
