The Ministry of Information, Communication, and Technology has achieved a significant milestone with the full digitization of the land registry, marking a major step forward in modernizing property transactions in Antigua and Barbuda.

This transformation enables a centralized, efficient, and streamlined process for landowners and prospective buyers.

The updated system, implemented in early 2025, now allows for the integration of land records from both Antigua and Barbuda, improving accessibility and reducing processing times.

“The digitization of the land registry ensures that individuals and businesses can access and manage land-related information more efficiently,” said Information and Technology Minister Melford Nicholas during the 2025 budget debate.

The initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to transition to a fully digital framework, reducing reliance on paper-driven processes and enhancing transparency.

This improvement is expected to benefit Barbudans in particular, who will no longer face the additional cost and inconvenience of traveling to Antigua for land-related services.

The government plans to build on this progress by providing access to other services through public halls and online portals, further modernizing how citizens interact with government services.
