Antigua and Barbuda to Introduce Paperless Immigration System in February

Antigua and Barbuda is set to modernize its immigration process with the launch of a paperless border control system next month, Telecommunications Minister Melford Nicholas announced. CLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR WHAT’S APP GROUP

The system, now in its pilot phase, replaces traditional paper ED cards with a digital solution, allowing travelers to submit their information online at least 24 hours before arrival.

Once completed, they will receive a QR code for seamless check-ins and faster processing at Customs.

Initially proposed during the COVID-19 pandemic to reduce physical contact, the project faced delays due to integration challenges with existing Canadian Bank Notes (CBN) border technology and financial setbacks.

The system has undergone compatibility testing and received positive feedback from border agencies.

Originally slated for November, the launch was postponed to February.
